On an unusually busy Friday evening, you’re desperately trying to get out of work to make it to a concert with your girlfriends that you’re already running late to. By the time you leave the office, it’s pretty well cleared out and you’re practically running out the door. Would it be worse if . . .
This: As your office elevator starts to make its way down it suddenly comes to a halt, and the doors don’t open? You press the emergency button to no avail. You’re stuck inside for more than two hours while they get it fixed.
Or…
That: You’re racing to the concert venue when a car suddenly pulls right into you? You’re fine, but your car’s left side is completely totaled, and the other driver is arguing that it was your fault for speeding.

I'd take the elevator any day.
12 hours in an elevator is nothing compared to the hours I'd spend waiting for a tow truck, waiting on hold with both insurance companies, arranging for repairs and a rental car, and possibly having to find a new vehicle. I'd probably miss the concert anyway, but at least the elevator ordeal would be over with in 2 hours, instead of months.
2I agree ladies. The car accident is so much more worse.
3aw crap, I voted for the wrong one. I always do that. Being in a car accident would definitely be worse.
4elevator, definitely. i hate small spaces but nothing compares to a freaking CAR WRECK!
5I was just in a really bad car wreck (but it wasn't my fault, and the other driver didn't claim for it to be), and I would take that any day over an elevator. The wreck happened in front of a firestation, and the (hot) firemen were more than helpful. One even asked for my number haha.
6i hate cars
7I'll take the elevator over a car accident anyday!
The insurance hassle would be horrible!
8both would SUCK but i'm really claustrophobic so i would panic in the elevator
9I said the elevator would suck... what if I had to go pee really bad?!
10Both would suck and i hate elevators but i would rather be stuck in one than in a car accident.
11The car accident is worse.
12It would take longer and cost SO much, whereas the elevator is just a time thing.
I'd take the elevator. I got stuck in elevators not once, but twice, during college. It was never for more than an hour or so, but it wasn't that bad.
13I didn't like this one... you're racing to the concert, and then the other guy "claims" it's your fault because you were speeding? it sounds like you WERE speeding.. so yeah.
14I would definitely rather be stuck in an elevator. The worries and costs would be much less than from a car accident.
15screw the concert...I would rather be stuck in an elevator that have to have my car insurance increase.
16Car accident is worse, but I voted wrong. Doi.
17Yeah, I'd rather not taint my immaculate driving record, kthx. I could just nap in the elevator until help arrived. As for the concert, oh well...
18I'm really claustrophobic but I'd still say a car accident is much worse. Not only do you have to deal with the insurance company and spend money you don't have in the meantime but it's more traumatic too. I hate car accidents much more than I hate elevators (which is still a lot )
19That would be worse for me...I could handle the elevator thing, if it was only for a couple of hours. I'd rather that than have my car get totaled!!
20I'd rather get in a car accident than sit in a tight elevator. I'm really claustrophobic. I know it would be harder on my fundage to be in a car accident but I could never be stuck in an elevator!
21Definitely the elevator! While these just coincidentally happen to be two things I worry about everyday (well, if I need to use an elevator or car), I'd rather be trapped alone and not hurt my car!
22Well I'm extremely claustrophobic and I've been stuck in the elvator...I had a huge anxiety attack and practically blacked out....thank god somebody was with me because I couldn't breathe and was crying and sweating- basically to me I would take the car accident simply because it's just money and the prospect of being stuck in the elevator is more of a health risk at least for me!
23Both would suck, but I have to say the elevator... simply because I would have no control over it. The car accident... well when you're "racing" to get anywhere lets face the fact that it's impossible to be a safe level of alert of your surroundings. Too many other things you're thinking about.
24both!
