Have they published an Idiot's Guide to Not Being an Idiot yet? If so, we need to give this dude a "book rental" card and a swift kick in the arse. I blame the Internet for this indecent display of dumbass. Who visits a library anymore, when we can simply search Google for unverified information on random peep's web pages? Research accomplished.

1Agreed, the guy seems dopey but sometimes local libraries disappoint and there are an amazing number of people who simply prefer to buy books. There are a number of online book exchange groups including FrugalReader.com, bookins.com and paperbackswap.com.
2Wow. I'm pretty sure they teach you all about good old libraries in school. So I gotta ask myself.. is this for real? Or did this guy just not get to the grade where they introduce that book sharing concept called a library?
3I'm a librarian, but if your local library is disappointing you in any way you should let them know, either by email or letter.

6Oh. My. Gosh. Sometimes libraries are underfunded, and it's not that their collections are deliberately limited. But really, did the concept of that pass him by completely? Didn't his school have a library? He could have taken out books from there for free!

9It would be nice if my library had more of the books and movies I'd like to read/see. That must have been a pretty big brain fart to forget libraries exist.
10I guess that I am blessed to have a current and well-stocked library. They have all of the latest DVD and book releases. Sometimes there is a waiting list, but for free (books) and $.25 per day DVDs, and doc's for no charge for a week at a time, I can't complain! Go libraries!
