Obama's name might be in million-point font on the front of every paper, but hanging in there with a little Comic Sans of her own is Hillary Clinton. And now the big question remains: WWHD? What Will Hillary Do?

She posed that question last night in a speech (one that was infinitely better planned than the McCain cringer, but more on that later) to supporters in New York saying
Now, the question is: Where do we go from here? And given how far we've come and where we need to go as a party, it's a question I don't take lightly. This has been a long campaign, and I will be making no decisions tonight. But this has always been your campaign. So, to the 18 million people who voted for me, and to our many other supporters out there of all ages, I want to hear from you. I hope you'll go to my Web site at HillaryClinton.com and share your thoughts with me and help in any way that you can.
In the middle of the empty auditorium, with no celebratory confetti to be found, is that big ol' elephant. Hillary has over 1,900 pledged delegates, a scant 200 or so fewer than Obama. Until she formally withdraws, those delegates stay in her pocket — a peanut for the elephant if you will. So what does she do with them?
While experts try to parse "what went wrong" with her campaign, Nancy Pelosi and pals call for a Friday deadline for the Superdelegates to decide, and people make lists of why she's still in it, the question is a little different: What Should Hillary Do?

he he, you made me giggle
1Brilliant, CS! I love font jokes! Very funny. Hillary is going to win somehow. Regardless of laws or delegates or even euclidian math. Watch and wait.
2I just don't trust her. But very good post CS!
3I think it'd be a mistake for Obama to make her VP...
but that's just me. If I were her, I'd hope
for a cabinet post or go for governor.
4I think she could be really influential in the Senate...have a career like Edward Kennedy or something. I worry that if she doesn't get VP or a cabinet position that her supporters would be upset, but I genuinely think she would be best utilized as a leader in the Senate.
5I can understand her reluctance to get out. She's so close, the democratic party RARELY gives people second runs at the Presidency, She's very deeply in debt...
Her best move is to stay in as long as she can. The parties best move is to get her out before she drives that wedge too deeply. She lost, it's time to go back to work.
6We should all be quiet. Harmony is nursing a hangover and is all tuckered out after her three page rants. Let's try and keep it down.
7Yes ma'am. I'll be good.
8Awww...RAC...you know me so well. Even the emoticons are making me dizzy...like this one.
I CAN'T WATCH IT!
9For some reason stiletta, I am leaning towards your POV on this. As I have said before I have a feeling HC will be the nominee - I don't know how but I feel there is going to be something that gives her edge.
10She should concede like any other respectful politician republican or democrat would do. Its a sin and not surprising that she would now use her people as pawns. She's a disgrace.
11I think she should run Independent. I really hope she is the nominee. ( I can't believe I actually wrote that)
12Lotsa coffee, a cold shower, Advil, and some nice little half-moon cucumber slices for your eyes are just the ticket, Harmony.
13Sometimes I feel like we all live in a big dorm. It's nice except that Syako never does the dishes and Stephley is always blasting her music after 10.
14Hehe cine...maybe your fingers are posessed this morning
15Seriously Em. I think they may be. Pretty shirt by the way!
16If she runs independant, the republicans get the presidency.
17Thanks cine! That's me (left) and my best friend Amy getting ready to go to a concert. Wish I was going to a concert right about now...
18I think she should step down.
19Em and Kiki you guys are so pretty!!!!! (You too Rac)
20I LOVE seeing what everyone looks like! We just have to work on Cine...I don't think I can wait until October!
I feel the exact opposite way; I've said Obama was going to be the nominee since Super Tuesday, it's just a matter of time and destruction on the way there. To me it was pretty obvious. Like we all knew Huckabee wasn't going to be the nominee either. Oh well. We can't all live inside my head(unfortunately). I hope she doesn't get the VP, first and foremost because of her loose canon husband. And that is putting it nicely.
21if she runs independent she will not only help the democrats lose the election, but she will go down as the most selfish, egotistical and short-sighted politician EVER. she's not that stupid, people. she won't. she can't. OH GOD PLEASE SOMEONE STOP HER!!!!
22I agree, UnDave. If Hil goes independant, Team Blue will be screwed. Honestly, I know they made a big deal out of Hil voters not wanting to vote for Obama, but one of my friends who was a volunteer for her campaign in NV (and actually sent out some of the propoganda emails that were anti-Obama) has accepted her loss and is now considering getting involved with his campaign. If she can be turned, I'm sure many more Hil supporters will do the same.
23Thank you Jillness! You are pretty too
I love your hair.
24YAY We're all in a dorm!!!! Ummmm...actually I quite enjoy being allowed to drink in my room and have boys over as late as I want.
25I don't even know anymore. It's like conventional politics have been thrown out the window. I've always said she should do as she feels she must- but I don't understand why, logically, she's still going with this.
If it were me (and it's not, obviously), I would concede, express my interest in a VP or cabinet slot, and hope that my opponent would choose me in the interest of unifying the party. It seems the logical course of action. (At least to me, it does. Then again, I'm not a politician. I don't even play one on TV.)
I like the dorm analogy. I'm imagining all my fellow posters in their roles... it's quite entertaining.
26Thank you very much kiki!
Mondaymoos, that story made me feel a lot better! I know there is a lot of work to be done, and many olive branches to extend, but that was a comforting story. Hopefully some people will start to question those silly emails they have been receiving!
27Hillary should do what she want's to do. Honestly we all need to stop getting all worked up. Sit back relax take a moment from the hysteria and observe.
28Ahhhh hypno...always the voice of reason. It's your on the cusp of libra tendencies.
29If we're in a dorm, when do they serve lunch? I'm starving.
30ha! i'm a libra too -- in my real life i'm much less argumentative. i swear.
31I do to do the dishes!
You better watch it rac, you might find your hands in hot water tonight!
32I'm a Libra too yy!
What you don't know Sy is that Rac and I stay up every night and play tricks on team red. Last time we put cab's bra in the freezer!
33Going for some shoe therapy. Have fun!
34We'll she's obviously working an angle on something. If she succeeds she will be considered a master if she fails a fool. None the less I have to respect anyone who say's F ya'll as long as opportunity avails it self to me I'm going to do what is right for me.
35I always wonderd how cab stayed so perky.
36Good luck on the shoe therapy. I'm off to lunch.
37I think Hillary needs to accept defeat and move on. She just won't quit and now she's looking ridiculous. She won't even accept publicly that someone else has won over her. She's looking more two faced to me by the moment.
She would be more concerned for herself than she would for the entire country. She does NOT need to be vice president. She needs to give up and go back to her old job. The majority so far does NOT want her or they were feeling in-between and will now go with Barack Obama.
Hillary needs to move on! The people want Obama.
38Jillness: I can usually call a BS email, but the truth is I don't read through the candidates' websites, speeches as often as I should. Sometimes, your posts are the best information I get.
39She is playing some serious games here by not conceding. I hope for her sake that they don't backfire (but for my sake, I sure hope they do)!
40I agree with Jillness, she should stay in the Senate - create a history of job stability, build a reputation OF HER OWN as a party leader, create a resume of legislative wins.
41I was just over on the NY Times site, and one of their authors made a good point.
This should be Obama's moment.
And instead, Hillary is making all about Hillary.
42well she is asking for our input. i'm going to go to her site right now and write to her and ask that she not waste anymore time allowing people to speculate. she needs to concede and let us get on with what we need to do before november.
43Agreed, Popgoestheworld. I thought her speech last night was in incredibly bad form.
44yesteryear I went to her site to do exactly that, the link takes you directly to the donation page. She doesn't want imput, she want $$$$.
45weird... it appears that she is assuming everyone who is sending a message to her is a supporter of hers. something tells me if i enter my name and location like they want me to i'm going to be added to the "18 million" supporters. i think i'll have to pass.
46Jill, I don't have any nice pictures of myself alone, so it will have to wait to October. Although with the build up will come inevitable disappointment.
47I doubt that, Cine! You are quite modest!
48Oh cine you can't dissapoint us. Hey now that everyone is showing their real face I should find something interesting for my avatar.
49You two are sweet. But you still have to wait till October unless some amazing picture of me turns up from now till then.
Hypno, I like looking at you. You are my man candy. Don't change your avatar!
