If that's the official reason, I find the grounds questionable. The woman did this on her own personal time. She didn't pose like that when she was operating as a teacher. Just saying.

Aside from that, I think it's darn pathetic for a 30-year old woman to be doing that. She has a pretty figure, but she's trying too hard. I would think that at her age, she would have outgrown that sort of behavior - perhaps she would convey her attractiveness in a more tasteful, classy manner?? Again, just saying.

Um....I'm thirty. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I also certainly don't think there is anything wrong with feeling sexy at thirty. I feel sexier now than I ever did in my "angsty twenties." It's when you start to own yourself and your body. I applaud her. This country needs to calm down with how afraid of sex it is.

As a mom, I wouldn't be thrilled to find out that my daughter's teacher is moonlighting basically as a boat-based Hooters girl. I'm trying to teach her that women don't need to be seen and treated as sex objects and should be treated with respect. The teacher contradicts that message in a pretty serious way - she's not just feeling sexy in her private life, she's selling sexy, as O'Reilly says, on the beach. If a young teen who thinks of her pretty, successful science teacher as a role model sees her strutting in a bikini to lure men to spend money, isn't she going to then think it must be ok? Do you know how much damage can be done to young girls who try to use their sexuality long before they know how really potent it can be?

I'd like to here from some nudists or people from countries where it is common for women to lay out on the beach topless. That's the thing the majority here in the U.S. has stigmatized sex so much and made it so dirty that poor lactating mothers can't even breast feed in public. I think it's beautiful but because we're so obsessed with the perverted side of sex we ban it.

Like I said as long as there is no actual sex involved for money and she’s just hanging out on the boat with the boys no harm done and it should have stayed were it belonged in her private life.

I think what she does on her own time is her business. I don't care if she's stripper (hypothetical). If she were in class talking about it or showing pictures, that would be different. Otherwise, who's to know what she's doing unless the people who are against it are at the strip club(a hypthetical existance remember), or buying the pictures, or at the nude beach. As long as it's not in my face or my kids face, I don't care. And as long as she's not picking up on my kids. Now that would infuriate me.

Hahaha, believe me, I don't think 30-years is old. I am much older than 30 myself. Physically, I take very good care of myself. My all-natural body is similar to that woman's. Yesterday, I was mistaken for a college student by another woman.

Look, bottom line, I think it's fine for that woman to pose like that. In fact, I think it's unreasonable for her to be fired for it, as it was done during her personal time. My issue is just a matter of personal taste. I find it sad that a 30-year old woman is still so voyeuristic. In my eyes, this picture is vulgar, not sexy. If a woman is truly sexy, she doesn't have flaunt a damn thing. Sexiness would naturally exude from her pores. Again, this is matter of my personal perception, and personal taste.

Well I agree with what you're saying Glow. I too get disappointed even in movies when actors stip or pose nude etc. If they really don't care and wat to flaunt what they have though, then who am I to say different? As long as it not in public. I think I have a right to walk down a street and not have to be careful where my eyes go. But, to me a bithing suit and someone feeling sexy in public is even more so-"who cares" to me. But on another note, maybe she's a single mom. Maybe she needs money. Who knows? Bottom line to me, she isn't hurting anybody, so it shouldn't matter.

If you take softcore calendar pinups away from teenagers, and they simply won't be prepared for the hardcore pornography and fetish smut when they're adults. Look, the average teenager is faced with a shortage of masturbation material. It's very hard for young men to purchase your basic porn rag such as "Yank" or "Hustler" or even "Playboy" without either being thrown out of 7-11 or just embarrassed by the simple transaction. That's where these calendars are so helpful. They provide much needed onanistic fantasy fodder. They are easily accessible, for the most part societally acceptable and they aren't technically porn.

I find it disappointing that she was 1) Fired over these pictures.
2) That she felt she needed to make extra money, and she felt as a college educated young woman, this was the only way to make extra money, and 3) There aren't better pictures of her on here.

How ridiculous. Way to associate everything with sex and to also stigmatize it no less. What shepherd does on her own time is her personal business so long as it doesn't break any laws and deviate completely from her contract i.e. porn videos. However, there was no sex, only photos of her posing suggestively in a full bikini.

The bikini story happened in my hometown. What happened is that she worked on a notorious topless charter boat, but she alleges that she never took off her top like all the other girls. Regardless, even if she did, I don't see how that can be relevant to her day job. As long as she's keeping it out of the classroom, what's the big deal? People around this town really don't feel that way though. Sigh.
