Judging by yesterday's post, it seems that most of you are a lot like your moms, yet some of you feel strongly that you couldn't be more different. Whether that's a conscious decision or not, I think it's safe to say that all of our moms have certain traits that we avoid mimicking when we become adults.
I have a lot of similar mannerisms as my mom, but in many ways we are quite different. Now I love her for being exactly who she is, but I think it helps our relationship that I've grown up to be my own woman. So ladies, tell me, what makes you different from your mom, or are you really her mini me?

In almost every way
1My motherly was severely abused as a child and has not left that mindset despite her attempts at therapy. After years of my mother's abuse me I left the house as a teen and dealt with my "demons" of her abuse pretty early in life. The factor of how we dealt with our abusive childhoods has made us very different in how we deal with people and our outlooks on life.
2In EVERYthing? lol I think the biggest difference would have to be, my mom has some serious trust issues, she's like super paranoid. As for me, I always see the best in people until they give me a reason not to.
3My mom is super paranoid too. She's always worried that something terrible is gonna happen to me or my brother. She still has a hard time letting me stay out after 1am and I'm 21! LOL I'm not like that at all.
4My mom is very short tempered and wants everything done her way, when she wants and so forth.
I'm very different. Although I'm emotional too it's not in an angry way more of an empathetic way. Sorry mom!
5The older I get, the more like my mom I'm becoming, and I love it. I always looked up to her.
6biggest differences between me and my mum is that she's a super clean freak, like bordering on compulsive while i'm more relaxed with 'organised chaos' - i know where stuff is, it just looks like a mess!
oh and when i go out she needs to know when, where, why, who with, what i'm doing, when i'm coming home, how i'm getting to and from. she's just paranoid something is going to happen i guess
7We have very different personalities. She is very emotional, dwells on the past, finds any reason to be unhappy, is very pessimistic to the point of being unrealistic, the list goes on. I am more quiet with my emotions, I get over things very easily, I am a natural optimist, a leader, I'm loud, outspoken, sacastic...VERY different from my shy, quiet mother. I am like her in that we like to cook and clean, and we have a purse obsession, but that's it. I love my mom, don't get me wrong...but I am happy I am not like her.
8I have some of the same personality traits as my mom, but to be honest, I make an effort to be different from her. She's very unhealthy in dealing with lots of stuff, and I've really had to try to create healthy patterns in my life, and sadly, that means trying to be the opposite of my mother.
9i love my mom but i would never want to be like her;
10I am the opposite of my mom personalty wise.
11I agree, I am glad I am not like her, even though I really love her.
It just seems so stressful the way she deals with things!
I Love My Life.
12I'm definitely taller!
13My mom is very shy and always worries about what others think of her. I was like that too as a kid, because that was all I ever knew. However, I am a natural leader, so I ended up growing out of that and becoming much more social once I left home. I also think that I am more open-minded than my mom, mostly because I got a higher-quality education.
14I'm more assertive than my mother...she doesn't stand up for herself and just too darn nice sometimes! I'm also more logical and level-headed than she is.
15The only thing my mom and I have in common is our skin. Other than that, I am way more like my dad.
16My mom and I are complete opposites. The only thing we have in common is our spontaneous goofiness. Like, she'll poke people or dance around randomly (in private, of course!) and giggle at random things. I'm like that, too.
OTHER than that...She's soo religious, I call her a fanatic...She's very traditional to the point that she advocates "keeping the races separate" (Yikes, I know!)...She has disgusting traits like using a body towel as toilet paper, which drives me crazy because I'm a clean freak...She's very oblivious about her flaws. I have never met someone who thought they were so beautiful, smart, sweet, caring and such a great person. It's funny because she's actually quite immature and manipulative, almost evil. I, on the other hand, know better than to think I'm the most perfect human being. To be fair, we have different educational backgrounds from different countries.
17We're different politically speaking and I'm more assertive. She also has more of a traditional gender role while I don't. But I love her so very much! And would like nothing more than to be just like her as a mother.
18I'm very different from my Mom. Sometimes she wonders how I came from her womb.
In a nutshell, she's a pessimist, and I'm a optimist. Our outlooks on life are polar opposites.
19I have all of my Mom's bad attributes and none of her good ones. We definitely look alike, have quick tempers, like to micromanage or be in control of everything, and talk things to death. I need to work on not being like her in that respect.
20I am my Mom's mini-me =) i get everything from her from her cleanliness ways, to her kindhearted self.
