Even if you try to avoid it, you’re going to pick up some traits from your mom. From the way they hold their teacups to how they handle confrontations, moms pass down their tried and true ways of being women in this world. While there may be some bad habits we’d rather avoid, for the most part, the similarities we share with our mothers really are something special. So when it comes to personality and mannerisms, what do you and your mom have in common?

physically, my button nose and big lips
personality wise, not a thing. At all. We are opposites in every way. I am every bit my dad. Quiet and reserved, she is loud and outspoken/outgoing.
But i love every bit of her
. She is a great momma.
1My mom was in town a few weeks ago staying at my house and before we went to bed, I fixed and fluffed up the couch cushions and she said, 'You get that from me.' Haha...then I realized I'm turning into her.
2Physically, we're nothing alike. I'm about 6 inches taller and 50 pounds heavier than her.
Personality wise ... I guess we're both introverts and perfectionists.
3I do little things like her, things I say, ways I act but personality wise we are VERY different.
4My sense of humor and ability to laugh at myself is from my mother. She never took herself too seriously and loved a good dirty joke! She had a great belly laugh that would get everyone else going, funny!
Happy Mother's Day, Ma.

"Who needs to lie? The truth is bad enough"
5She said that a lot.....
I look exactly like her. My nephew saw one of her high school pictures and he thought it was me
We are both super short (5 foot even) and petite (although I do weigh more than she does) & brown hair w/ red highlights and green-brown eyes. We have the same nose &
lips too. I got my tiny feet from her (size 5). We are both emotional, loving, caring, and pretty much alike personality wise. We always say the same thing at the same time... it freaks my
little sister out! lol
6We both like the same movies, clothes, shoes, jewelry and house decorations. I have no problem shopping for her ... I just pick what I like! lol And I buy her shoes all the time b/c I can just try them on to see if they fit!
Politically speaking we are different. I'm liberal, she's more moderate.
I notice more and more the older I get how many traits I have picked up from her...it scared me sometimes!
7Just little things like scratching my arms at ngiht to relax even!
We're both short, independent, stubborn, strong-willed, we both LOVE shoes etc.
8We look alike. I don't really see it, but I believe it because all my life people have been saying it obvious we are mother and daughter. She just has darker colouring vs. my blonde hair and fair skin.
I think I share the same morals with her and the way of viewing life. We have same taste on lots of things, but she's not good at spending money..I think I can sometimes spoil myself with things I like. But I'm very cautious with money, and that I got from her.
9Physically, we have the same hair and the same coloring. Unfortunately for me, I inherited my body from my dad, though.
We also have very similar speaking voices.
Personality-wise, we both go for the same type of men (creative, sensitive artist-types). We are both bossy (she is MUCH worse than I am). That's about it.
10nothing. i swear, sometimes i think i'm not her daughter.
we are completely different personality types (she is a big pushover and i am anything but), don't get me started on fashiong sense, and i don't look like her or my dad.
i still love her, but i wish she would speak her mind a little more. if my dad is annoying or making her mad, she won't say anything to him, just to me when he leaves the room. i guess she's just old fashioned.
i do hope i get her skin when i'm older. she is 55 and has no wrinkles
11We think of the same movie quotes at the same time. My dad and fiance always look at us like we're nuts.
12my face is dead on with my mother's face, but I hope I didn't inherit the crazy
13Personality wise, we're very different. I look like her in ways, and I have the same obsession with purses, and love to cook and clean. That's about it.
14Everything. We look alike, we act alike, we like the same food, the same type of interior designs.....everything.
15We look alike (thanks for the super fast metabolism Mom!) and our handwriting looks similar. Also, she's very down to earth and I'm often told by others that I'm a down to earth type as well. I think in terms of inheriting things from her...I've noticed ever since I moved out that I try to make sure that I eat healthy.
16#1 trait - OCD. It's kind of a good thing, though, because we can joke about it with eachother.
I find myself saying exact sentences to my kids that she said to my brother and I, and although I hated it at the time, it makes sense now.
I wish I looked more like her, though. I am the female version of my Dad, through and through. While I really like that, I wish I just had a couple more things that maybe looked more like her.
17lack of compassion, dependence on other people's opinions, amazing ability to lie without a concience, lack of ability to love...
18I look just like she did when she was my age, but I have a different body shape then she does.
19Personality wise we are very similar in a lot of ways.
We have the same smile, we are both laid back, and we both are very outgoing/goofy.
20Not many, thankfully.
21But we're both clean freaks haha.
We are pretty much the same. It is kind of frightening to admit that.
22We share the same laugh! It's so weird, like especially when it's a really big laugh like when we're being tickled!? It's dead on exact and it always catches me off guard when I hear her laugh coming from myself lol.
23We're both very pragmatic. And I sometimes catch myself using her "one-liners". But she's a great mom, so if I turned out like her, that would be okay.
24We don't look alike, but when people who know one of us meet the other they say it's immediately evident that we're mother and daughter.
We have similar voices, and both have a "speaking voice" we switch to when on the phone or speaking to a crowd.
We both spoil the men in our lives. I'm trying to ease up on this, though, so that mine doesn't turn into a selfish brat.
We both can be pushovers, but I'm learning to stand up for myself and hoping my mom will grow a spine someday too.
We've never imbibed together, but I know that neither of us can hold our liquor. Two drinks = tipsy.
Neither of us will ever go out in public without makeup.
We both love to bake.
We both care a great deal about the opinions of others, even when we shouldn't.
25My mom and I look very much alike, but the only difference is is that I'm tanner and I have my dads big eyes. But her and I are very caring, hardworking individuals. And we have a great sense of humor too!
26I am turning into my mom in every bit.
27Minus the 25 year age difference, we look almost carbon copies alike, down to the freckles and the thin brown hair.
and as I grow older, I notice that we share mannerisms and vocabulary.
like the other day, I told my roommates that "If they wanted their dishes done, they had better at least bring them in" and when they said okay mom I hit the floor, because I realized that it was the same thing she always told us.
We're both Pisces and very emotional/sensitive...also friendly and outgoing and sweet. We love to shop and do it just about every weekend--she's my favorite shopping partner for sure!
Both of us hate confrontation. But I'm much more assertive than my mom, whereas she often gets taken advantage of because she's SO nice and doesn't always stand up for herself.
People always say that my mom and sister and I have so many of the same mannerisms.
28Curly hair, freckles, height.
Creativity, ability to pick up anything and do it, love of the same career (Parks & Recreation), love of home improvement projects..
29Physically: I have her families trademark nose. We are from some part of Scandinavia, and I have the beak to prove it. Also, I have her facial structure (thankfully) it's an oval.
Mannerisms: I have her temper, we sound IDENTICAL on the telephone. It's spooky. Since I have moved out, people can tell a bit more if it's me or her because my accent has changed slightly, but you can't really tell a difference...she tricks my boyf when he calls, etc.
Also, I find myself being cautious like her now as I get older, and I find myself saying things i swore I would never say haha.
30Physically...Same eye shape, same nose and same face shape. We also have the same ears, feet and hands. We're also both petite, but she's actually almost four inches taller than me, and now entering her mid-forties, so she also has a few more inches (horizontally) on me.
Personality-wise...Our tendency to randomly entertain, we like similar types of food and we have similar taste in men.
Other than that, polar opposites!
