You tried so hard to get your man excited — you went shopping with your girlfriend and picked up the sexiest satin and lace number you could find. You thought you looked great and was sure your man wouldn't be able to resist you. Then when you slipped it on for what you thought was going to be one amazing night, he wasn't that into it. What gives?
While it's true that guys are very visual when it comes to sex, not all guys love to see their woman in sexy lingerie. It all comes down to personal preference, and a feather-fringed nighty may not be the type of thing that turns your guy on. So what can you do about it?
- If you love wearing sexy getups because it makes you feel sexy and beautiful, then don't worry about what he thinks. Wear it anyway because your confidence will surely be a turn-on.
- If you only bought it for him and he's not even batting an eye, find out what he does like you to wear. Maybe he's into a plain white T-shirt or your old high-school cheerleading outfit or perhaps he'd rather see you in nothing at all. You'll never know unless you ask.
- While many guys get turned on by what they see, maybe your man is more intrigued by how you smell or feel, or what you say to him. Again, you'll only know by talking to him about it.

My boyfriend thinks that dressing up in lingerie is trying too hard, and he finds that a turn off. Thank God.
Because I'm definitely not into going shopping for feathery lingerie items with my girlfriend, and then rushing home with the expectation that finally, finally, maybe he'll have sex with me. Blech.
1popgoestheworld - LOL, you are too funny...
2Most women think that men like sexy lingerie...but really they don't! Here's the comparision...Women are Victoria's Secret, Men are Frederick's & Sex Stores:)
Most don't care about beautiful sexy, they want sexy that says I wanna do you all night!
3I remember my aunt telling me one time that she didn't see the point in paying so much for something when the whole point is taking it off within 5 minutes. Always made me laugh. My boyfriend is happy with me just being naked... he's a man, what else would I expect? ; )
4Very agreed, Graylen. I like your aunt's view. It is expensive!
5It's my understanding that guys are generally more turned on by nudity than implied, suggested, or partial nudity
6my boyfriend is the opposite. he loves it. we do reserve it for special occasions and surprises though.
he likes what i choose, but he also has fun buying things for me.
7graylen I second that. I find to get some get up from VS is such a waste of money for the few mns you'll wear it.
8I don't typically buy sexy lingerie to change in to. However, I do buy pretty matching sets that I wear under my clothes.
9My husband buys me lingirie on occasion and I'll wear it for him...but I typically don't go out and spend a lot of $$ on stuff.
10Mr. Goose is turned on by the prospect of sex -- clothing optional.
What (hetero) men find sexy is when their women are turned on and want to have sex with them. Everything else is gravy.
11I agree with Berlin. I think men and women just have a very different perception of what is considered 'sexy lingerie' for example a woman might like something pink and lacy and sheer, and a man might like something black and plastic/vinyl.
12Yeah I would think most guys are more turned on by nudity. I'm in a new relationship so I haven't actually had the lingerie discussion with my guy so I'm not sure of what his stance is. All I know is I can just wear a zip up hoodie with nothing underneath and he will be just as turned on.
13lol my boyfriend loves it. often, i can even get him to buy it for me!
14I enjoy wearing it b/c it helps me get in the mood more. I don't have many pieces b/c yeah, it is expensive. Nothing like waiting for semi-annual sales or coupons. lol
15My husband is ok with it but he doesn't really need it. Every now and then I will break it out for special occasions or just to change things up a bit but mostly he just like me naked
16H & M makes great lingerie thats sexy and inexpensive
17I'm definitely never going to be the girl dropping cash on teddies or anything non-functional. I do spend entirely too much money on pretty and/or sexy matching sets and nighties...but I wear all of it regularly, whether the boyfriend is around or not. Matter of fact, a lot of it was purchased when there was no one around to see it at all. He does seem to like what I wear (or at least he says he does) and comments on it sometimes, but yeah, in the end, I think a tee shirt and boxers would have the same effect.
18Bottom line... ask him. Why waste money when he's not gonna like b/c you didn't ask? This is surely not the time to be wasting money. Lol.
19Yup, been there done that with my husband. He told me that I look sexy naked and the lingerie will come off in less than 5 minutes as well, lol. I have had past boyfriends who liked it when I dressed up. So, if I buy anything, it's so I can wear it under my clothes. Sexy bras makes me feel sexy and that's why I buy them. Teehee.
