Who among us can hear the question "Are you there, God?" without being able to answer back "It's me, Margaret." Judy Blume has had a huge part in educating many girls about the facts of life — with humor and age-appropriate candor. (Well, it's not her fault that I got my hot little paws on Wifey as a kid and was scarred for life because of a scene involving slow-dancing and a tampon — don't ask.) Anyway, since we missed the beloved writer's birthday (it was on February 12, according to geeksugar, who also sent us to her awesome website), let's pay homage to her with this poll. What's your favorite Judy Blume book?

Austin Reed
Mulberry
Jucca
Probably Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing or Fudge. Freckle Juice was good too!
1Oh Judy, I love you so.
2Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself!!!
Naturally.
3Blubber for the younger me, and Summer Sisters for me now. I still re-read Summer Sisters about once a year.
And as I think about it, I loved so many of her books, you can't go wrong . . . Forever, Are You There, God, Freckle Juice.

Summer Sisters. That was by far my FAVORITE book as a kid.
6Summer Sisters is still my favorite book now! I always recommend my girlfriends to read it--especially when they're having girlfriend drama.
7Just as Long As We're Together was my favorite!!! I LOVED that book (and still have a copy I take out from time to time to read, tee hee)
8LOVED the Fudge books!!
I used to think Forever was so dirrty. :0)
9One of my friends was from a very strict family and she read Forever in installments at my house when she visited.
10Summer Sisters was one of the first books I read that wasn't Babsitter's Club or Sweet Valley High! I consider it my first "growned up book" I still love it!

12I loved Judy Blume. My mom gave me Are you there God? It's me Margaret. to read instead of actually telling me about periods. Great.

15I said other... I read Just as Long as We're Together over and over.
16I was so surprised that Fudge was not on the list! She did a good job writing books to kids our age (back when we were that age).
