Back in the '50s, well-intentioned housewives were scolded and shunned for pouring their husbands distasteful cups of coffee. In a day and age when the worth of a woman was judged solely on her beauty and homemaking skills, a bad cup of java warranted a good amount of verbal abuse. If Folgers was the secret weapon to fend off a hubby's ungrateful rebuke, no wonder they came to call it "the best part of waking up." In a perfect world, "the best part of waking up" would've been this lady hurling the hot cup of coffee at her husband. With a little creamer to boot. "Your coffee, sir."
LOL
How can such a sexist, douchey guy have such a submissive wife?
1I don't think I could have hacked it in the 50's. I definitely would have thrown his coffee at him
2OMG!
3Holy fork!
4I call my fiance sir
5Does this make me a bad person? lol
I would have hated the 50s.
6So sexist wow....
It's kind of a joke!!
7Ugh. The fact that she's all excited to bring him his coffee and waits with baited breath to hear his reaction is making me kind of sad.
8I'm so glad that advertising realizes the potential of women these days... and turns us and just about everything else into some sexualized object/ideal. *sigh*
9The 50s Rocked! Ha ha!
