Finding one's career path takes some trial and error. And being unhappy in your work does indeed feel like trial and like error; it's one of the things people vent about the most.
Sometimes our immediate needs compete with our long-tern goals or dreams. The bills must get paid, even while we move slowly in our chosen direction. Let's say we could move all that aside, ladies. Let's say you could have any career, right now, anywhere (putting aside the fame and celebrity choices, ok?). If money wasn't and wouldn't be an issue, do tell, what would your dream job be?

Duccio Del Duca
Stuart Weitzman
Christian Dior
My dream is to have an animal sanctuary.
1I reckon I could give Anna Wintour a run for her money!
2Research Scientist in a top Uni
3To create and publish my own line of greeting cards.

Being a professional world traveler.
5my dream job is one I'd want to keep after winning the lottery.
i haven't found it yet.
6my dream is to be a librarian (which i already am) but i wish i were at a smaller university and had less people to work with (i want to be in charge, really).
7I want to be a fashion designer or to be in a chirstian rock band.
8I'd love to be a professional shopper. My mom used to have a friend who did it, and she got to travel all over the world. That would be my dream job. Especially since I'm so good at it
If anyone knows how to get into this line of work, please let me know. I'm
suffering at my current job, and would love to look into this, but have no idea how to go about it.
9I don't know... it's easy to think something is your dream job but the reality of it might be nothing like it seems from the outside. In theory, I'd like to be a counselor at a high school.
10i think i would want to incorporate travel into my job. i would definitely want to include shopping. hmm...i guess i would go with being a professional shopper as well.
11you might laugh...but my dream job was always to be a disney princess at disneyland.
12i want to be a boutique owner and hopefully a mom (someday).
13i loved working for the politicians i worked for UNTIL: they started believing their own press. so i guess working for a politican who's beliefs i shared for the first year they are in office. then it's time to move on.
14I want to be a mom someday. I think that's the ultimate dream job.
Professionally though - I think I'm there. I just want to start my own business doing what I do now for the company I work for on my own.
15a makeup artist. or a librarian.
16Journalist, hands down.
17a respected scriptwriter. I would very much love to write for the gyllenhaal family. A non cheesy indie for jake and maggie together. I think she's so beautiful and he's so yummy. He can really melt someone with that smile.
18music journalist/entertainment reporter.
19****"Everything in life is only for now."-Avenue Q****
Magazine editor/bakery owner/interior designer.
20Actress or singer... Difficult, I know!
21I would love to work for the Travel Channel. More specifically, I totally want Samantha Brown's job since she gets paid to stay in great hotels in fabulous cities!
22Be a super famous industrial designer/architect and design whatever the hell I wanted to- buildings, furniture, poster and run a super successful design firm like Droog. That or be president. I like to be in control.
23Professional treasure hunter! You know like in the movies where someone rich pays a Nicholas Cage type to go on a world wide adventure to find some sort of treasure.
24A Forensic Pathologist!
25I would love to be a trend forecaster - in other words, go to different countries, pick up on their trends in clothing, and relay it back to the States, where I would proceed to make sure they become "in style".
26Well besides being an astronaut? Or a journalist who travels and writes reviews for Conde Nast or Destinations magazine all year? How about being an art director for a huge international retailer, say Burberry? A position where they pay you to fly to exotic locations and oversee photo shoots. Then help design the print, the signage and the catalogs. Then a big fat paycheck for all of it. I could handle that.
