Our friends over at College Humor were in an ongoing prank war when one of the dudes took a joke way too far. He figured out when his buddy was taking his girlfriend to a Yankees game and arranged to have a fake marriage proposal flash on the Jumbotron in front of 57,545 fans. The dude's girlfriend was elated by the announcement, the dude was baffled, and our prankster couldn't help but laugh and pat himself on the back. It was all too cruel to be true — but the prank was for reals. Boys will be boys . . .

No. No "boys will be boys." That doesn't cut it for something like this. No way, no how. Its one thing if the guys want to play jokes on each other, but Sharon is obviously an innocent bystander in this 'prank war' and she did NOT deserve to be treated like that.
I don't know anyone could think that was even remotely funny. It was just pure cruelty! I mean, this girl thinks her guy is proposing to her, tells him "yes" and then he as to tell her he wasn't asking?
She's not just going to feel let down, she's going to feel rejected and HUMILIATED, because she's thinking - even though it was only for a few seconds - that her guy loves her so much he wants to marry her, and then he has to tell her that - at least right at this moment - he's not ready to make that commitment! Plus, he now KNOWS that she *does* want to marry him, and that's going to change the nature of their relationship - he knows what she's hoping for, and if that not what he can offer her, it's going to make things more than a bit awkward.
The prankster here is a feaking asshat! I hope he gets EXACTLY what he deserves for that - without anyone else getting hurt in the process.
1Oh, and even if Streeter had pulled some kind of really mean, hurtful joke on the prankster in the clip above, and this was retaliation for that, it's STILL out of line because of how it involved Sharon. I don't know if Streeter ever did anything to the Prankster or hurt one of the Prankster's friends, but it really doesn't matter. *Streeter* may have been deserving of some serious prank karma, but not Sharon.
Anyone with a modicum of decency should have been able to figure out that this was wrong, wrong, wrong before they laid out $500 on the prank.
2i totally agree with thorswitch. i want to punch streeter's "friends" in the face! those boys seriously need to grow up. a marriage proposal is a huge step, and a very serious one at that, and should NEVER be made into a joke.
3This is the worst prank ever. Obviously that "friend" is really immature and stupid. If I were the boyfriend though, I would've waited until the game was over to confess to my girlfriend--no need to humiliate her in front of the entire crowd. I feel so bad for the girl.
4Terrible terrible prank. Not funny at all.
5I laughed ... and I thought it was quite amusing
6hahaaa i thought it was hilarious
7I don't know how real that slap looked to me.
8Kimdangirl, I think it was him trying to dodge the slap. I believe it was real..
9However, it was terribly funny!
i agree with thorswitch... asshattery at it's finest. if you want to mess with the dude, why not just put an announcement from sharon that she's pregnant on that jumbotron
10Yeah, the guy is kind of a tool. I think he could have just told the girlfriend beforehand and asked her to act really over the top and happy. He didn't need to hurt her just for a prank.
11I bet he was thinking of doing this or putting money in the paper for a fake obit for the other guy's mom.
I like how's he says, "I'm starting to feel a little bad." Nice that he thought of that before *Doh!
12Although I thought the slap looked a little rehearsed, I thought the whole thing was really REALLY funny!
13i thought this was funny at first but it is a little mean the girl had nothing to do with there little prank war he could hae told her about it first
