With a new season comes new trends. If you're a magazine junky like me, it's pretty hard to avoid reading about the new it bag or the trendy new color that'll be hot for the season. While I like to think I have my own unique style, it's inevitable that I pick up a few new habits every season, however some people take trendy to a whole different level. For instance, skinny jeans or leggings are just not made for everyone, yet women still wear them because they're "in" despite how they look. Same thing goes for platform shoes, black nail polish, oversized sunglasses, or brining back an old look — it's either your style or it's not. So ladies, even though it's fun to be hip and with it, what I want to know is, do you jump on the trendy bandwagon or do you like to express your individuality by going against the trendy grain?

I like trends and I participate in them, but I do know what looks good on me and what doesn't and I will not wear something that does not flatter me just because it's trendy. There are also trends that I absolutely hate and I will also not wear them just because they are trendy.
1No, i have a mind of my own so i totally take my own path.
2"It all depends on what the style is and if it's flattering on me."
Also, sometimes, I like to wear something different, too. Again, it has to flatter me. That's the bottom line.
3i like being different
4I've never been ultra trendy. I wear what I like.
5I get as current as my wallet will take me and with two horses that's not very far. They, however, look stunning. I wish I could get new shoes every six weeks!
6I've never been trendy. Just fashionable.
7I don't wear a style just because it's trendy. Only if it flatters me. But I'm always watching trends to see what's out there. They're fun.
8I agree with Pistil. I always go for comfort over style and sometimes they go together (leggings and oversized top) and sometimes they dont (trackpants). I enjoy looking at fashion though and picking which trends I am going to go with and which I will leave to others.
9Apparently I didn't get the girl gene when it comes to fashion.
I pretty much think that nearly everyone turns into major posers (yes, I did just bring that word back from 8th grade) when it comes to clothes and accessories.
I mean, ask anyone two years ago to go outdoors in leggings and they would have been like "eeew" and now it's hip. Whatever.
I love seeing someone artfully and uniquely dressed, someone who is really into fashion as an art and as expression. But as a city dweller, I mostly just run into clone after clone.
Boring little lemmings.
10I follow trends, but I make them my own.
11To me, trends are a fun way to try something new. I'll definitely give a trend a chance by going to a store and trying it on, but if it doesn't look good on me I won't buy it just because it's the in thing.
12I'd say I fall somewhere between trendy and classic... some trends are best left in the mags or runway for me
13I pretty much put on a hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and my northface everyday. i would like to dress cute more, but all i do is go to class in crappy ohio weather.
14I don't follow trends..
15I usually buy two or three trendy pieces per season, but won't pay a lot for them so I don't feel bad about donating them after a short time. The rest of my wardrobe is very classic, and I won't wear a trend that doesn't flatter me.
16i try to keep the cost minimal on trendy stuff, and in general i wait until i get used to a particular look before wearing it myself...like skinny jeans...i just couldn't get behind those at first...same thing for capris waaaay back when they became cool...but now i wear both all the time
the big sunglasses thing though...well, that's my signature move!
17I don't do trends that much unless it really has staying power because I just don't have the funds to keep stocking my closet every season or the energy to keep up.
18I think part of the fun of fashion is the trends, so I'll join in if I like it & it's flattering on me. I don't spend a lot on trendy pieces though. I also don't wear more than one trend at a time or wear trendy stuff every day. Nothing worse than looking like a slave to trends.
19I don't have the money to do that. I buy clothes only a couple times a year, and then it's usually something that I need. We're all influenced in some way by trends, even if we don't intentionally follow them. But there are so many different types of trends out there.
20It all depends how they loon on me, and how expensive they are!
21Like skinney jeans...I don't mind the trend, but in my opinion they look horrible on me soooo I don't wear them!
Only if I like it and then put my own twist on it. I like to be original.
22I'm pretty lame - I'm a jeans and t-shirt girl - but I just can't afford to buy into trends all the time. I also hate to look like every other girl out there and prefer to make my own way rather than jump on the bandwagon (and almost nobody looks good in leggings - Lindsay Lohan I'm looking at you!)
23Depends on what the trend is.
I'm pretty low key with my clothes and like to stay casual, so if it doesn't fit with my current style I won't wear it.
I do not like the leggings look. And 90% of people who wear skinny jeans shouldn't.
24Two great examples of fashions that don't do any justice to those who wear them!
I don't follow trends, I start them.
25I will get into trends early (as early as I can), but as soon as everyone else catches on, I'll move on. For example....I was wearing tights under long shirts and dresses in 2006...but now that everyone and their mom is doing, I really can't bring myself to do it that often. Same goes with ballet flats and wedges.
26i don't like following trends. i prefer to purchase simple classic pieces that'll last awhile. occassionally, i'll get something "trendY' from forever 21, but that's rare, and not a significant dent in my wallet.
27Um, I think I would be a lot more trendy if I could afford to be...I go out sometimes and see these girls, and I'm like how can they afford that?? I make good money, but I guess the older you get, things like mortgages and car payments take precedent over fashion unfortunately.
28Sugarsister - I agree with you about the horses - I only foot the bill for one, and I would so love to have a $100 pair of shoes every six weeks...but honestly, I wouldn't trade the boarding, shoeing, showing, and vet bills for anything
29I have my own style, and I'm usually the one starting a trend without being aware of it. Then it's kind funny and mostly irritating being copied. If, a trend is good looking, and I really love it...I'll defintiely wear it. But, I've never been the type to wear every trend at one time, or wear a trendy item that's absolutely hideous...even if everyone under the sun is wearing it and thinks it's beautiful. Ugly is ugly and pretty is pretty..it's not to hard to tell.
30I like to follow sunglasses and nail trends because it's fun and cheap and if I decide I don't like it I'm out like ten bucks. If I already have pieces that work with a trend I'll try them out. For instance, I have a lot of black clothing and a long string of pearls, so I'll probably rock that one once this season, though that's kind of a timeless trend. I also follow trends by accident, like my mom brought me back a purple purse and gloves from Florence and now the magazines are all screaming about purple leather goods and I'm like, "okay."
31i cant afford to be too trendy; a piece or there but most of my closet is filled with staples.
32a piece *here or there*
33If it's a trend I like I will. If it's stupid then no way. I'd rather be uncool than look stupid and regret it later.
34It all depends on what looks best on me, and it has to be reasonably priced, too!
