There are a plethora of places to meet eligible men, most commonly the grocery store, the gym, or at a bar, but then there are the more obscure places like in line at the DMV or in the waiting room at your doctor's office where Mr. Right could be lurking. The key to meeting someone is always keeping your eyes and ears open while making yourself approachable. There's no right or wrong venue, so ladies, do tell, where is the strangest place you've ever met a man?

1The gas station.
2I have two... but maybe they aren't that wild.
1. On an airplane on the way to a friend's wedding. I gave him my number and a few months later (when he was in my town) he called me.
2. And in line for the 7th Harry Potter book. We met at 6pm when we were claiming our wristbands and chatted for an hour or so while we waited. Then we saw one another again at midnight. But nothing came of it b/c I had my first date with my current bf the following night.
3Subway. I thought he was cute so I walked up and gave him my number.
4The Haunted Mansion at Disney World. He worked there, and I think i was on my 3rd trip on the ride, when he asked me for my number.
5On facebook. LOL. Needless to say, that didn't go anywhere. We got along better before we met.
6During a spades tournament in Myrtle Beach SC
7i don't really have any strange places...but i met my bf when my best friend, a mutual friend of ours tried to set me up with his (the bf's) best friend. even weirder, my best friend is now dating the best friend of my bf's that she tried to set me up with
did that make
sense? lol
8my boyfriend works with my dad! :|
9In front of my apartment. He was out running with one of my neighbors, and just happen to run by right as I was leaving my apartment. We ran into each other again later that night at the bar, and we dated until he moved.
10I met my bf of 3 years on Myspace, back before there was like 70 gazillion people on there. I was perusing local guys' pages and came across his...I sent him a message totally making fun of him for listing every cd and movie that he owned on his page and somehow that led to us dating...random, but I'm sure glad I sent that message! Oh, and that he wrote back
11In line for some free Chick-fil-A during finals week in one of the dorms. We got to talking because he was interested in buying some of my greek mythology books.
12At a bar under a freeway in Reno, NV.
13i met my boyfriend while we were both blowing up balloons for our homecoming float our fraternities did together!

And his dad actually set us up in a way. I had summer driver's ed w/ his dad as my teacher and he went home and told Josh about me! So that following fall when we were in class together ...
things just sort of happened!!
He is Wonderful!!!
17We are still dating 5 1/2 years later
At my front door when my mechanic sent someone over to see why my car wouldn't start.
On the subway platform.
Through a mass email.

20I once met a guy when I was trying to buy a newspaper out of one of those dispensers on the street. I was struggling to get it open, and he stopped to help and offer me another quarter -- we chatted a bit and it turned out we had some acquaintances in common, so I gave him my number. The relationship didn't go anyway, unfortunately -- we would have had such a great "how we met" story!
In general, though, I have a really tough time meeting guys -- guess I need to be more bold...
21I once met a guy in line at traffic court. I met another guy on an airplane. Neither lasted more than a few dates, but like nohesitation said, either would have made great "how we met" stories!
22I haven't really met guys in particularly strange places, but a few weeks ago I was at a theme party, and then afterwards I ended up at a club. At the party, one of my friends had dared me to wear a viking hat and carry this plastic axe. At the club, I met a couple of guys who were like "Is that girl really carrying an axe?" They came over to find out why on earth I had an axe with me, lol!
23I need to get out more...
24A cop who was working a detail stopped me.
25pizza hut
26I was bored on the bus home from work one night and started bluetooth messaging random people on the bus (weird, but it was fun) and an amazing guy replied. We got talking properly and we're really good friends now, I'd like more but he's in a relationship so I wont go there (and neither will he, I must add)...but I'd still consider it a strange way of meeting an object-of-my-desire!
27I have a couple semi-weird ones: at the library, at the grocery store, in an elevator, and in the girls' bathroom at a sports bar (long story there...).
28on xanga, a personal journal site..
29Just like the picture next the the post - we met at a gas station. I was driving my stepfather's truck, he recognized the truck and wanted to know who the hot blond was behind the wheel!
30My friend asked me to help out a friend of a friend by participating in a research study, I went to the hospital and met him...he spent half an hour taking photographs of my eyes....the asked me out a few days later...we've been crazy in love ever since!!
31in an abandoned communist factory in berlin
32alexask, that is the coolest place to meet someone!
Uhh...At my school, we can take GE cluster courses for an entire year where a certain subject will be taught for three quarters, and you get a handful of GE courses finished off.
I met my current boyfriend in that class, so we had the same lecture and discussion for two quarters before we chose a different seminar the third quarter.
Also, while waiting for food at Carl's Jr., the computer tech that was sent to fix my computer, and a cop who was having dinner at a Korean restaurant (his partner asked for my number for him).
