There's plenty of evidence that emotional stress can manifest as physical symptoms in our bodies. That's the good news and the bad news. If we're not paying attention or working to manage and alleviate stress, sometimes a physical sign will get our attention. Ideally, we'll seek to care for ourselves or our situations before the body is impacted. If not, it helps to know the signals our bodies give us and to listen. We can then trace the symptoms back to the cause, and do what we can to work through the initial difficulties.
Ladies, when you're overwhelmed or under a lot stress, what's the most common way your body reacts?

Weight gain & looooooong periods -- I just had my period for 3 months then when me and my bf broke up it went away -- like that night when he moved out. Trippy!
1Headaches and sometimes dizziness.
2Hives. I break out in hives all over.
3Headaches combined with backaches. It's the pits, but usually a good workout will help ease the stress.
4My skin freaks out--rashes or my face breaks out. I HATE stress!
5Headaches, headaches, and more headaches. Booo.
6Headaches and migraines.
7Panic attacks
8All the above!
9Debilitating stomach cramps and dizziness.. happened to me just last week
10all of the above, depending on how stressed i am. once i had been so stressed out for weeks because of a breakup that i had a fever every day and threw up a few times. horrible!
11I scrunch up my shoulders and it hurts the nape of my neck. I definitely hold my stress around that area.
12We need an all of the above choice for this one!
13I know this is gross, but canker sores! I hate them!!
14Headaches, stomachaches, backaches, and difficulty breathing. I'm so glad I put my two weeks notice in at my very stressful job because I will hopefully get rid of having these symptoms of stress everyday.
15I get major rash all over my face. I sometimes get cold sores- which is even worse!!!
16I am with you, lilegwene. I get panic attacks, then a headache or migraine from that.
17Usually migraines or bad headaches and my face breaks out. Fun!
18neck and shoulder pain. and when the stress gets really bad, i usually come down with a cold.
19all of the above- I have suffered badly to the point I have Fibromyalgia, which all of the above are apart of it...requiring regular massage, painkillers, frequent trips to the loo. and rest.
Stress can be an illness
Fibromylagia
