The star sleeper of Hillary's famous 3 am ad has just made an ad she was actually awake for. Casey Knowles, the girl who appeared unwittingly in stock footage in an ad for Hillary Clinton (despite the fact that she's a vocal Obama supporter) fires back with this rebuttal.

What do you think? Is this response an "Oh, snap!" or an "Oh, please?" Do you approve this message?

I think it's an alright ad. If she was just putting it out there to get her 15 minutes of fame, I would be a bit skeptical. But, it seems like she was already involved in Obama's campaign, and is just taking advantage of her chance to spread a message.
My two cents!
1She seemed well spoken and respectful, but I don't think this ad is going to do much. Her volunteering is probably helping a lot more!
2Holy Buttchin.
3How old is this girl?? She looks like she isn't old enough to vote!
4From what I've heard, cabaker, she's 17. But maybe she's turned 18 since.
5I don't think she is old enough to vote, but she's old enough to be pimped out in the name of democracy.......
6M3 thats exactly what I was thinking.
7This back and forth between the two camps is getting ridiculous, but I don't blame the girl for making the effort, since as MMM pointed out, she was pimped out
8It seems like it meant something to her personally to make this ad, and it comes from a genuine place, like Liberty says, so I'm for it.
9I wasn't too impressed in the first place with the perceived touche from the Obama camp riding like Paul Revere at 3:00am spreading the word across the land the the girl in the Clinton ad was pro Obama.
My reaction was whoopty freakin doo! She's an actor that gets cast like any other actor won a casting that happened to be on a Clinton ad. How many other actors looking for work did ads for people running for office that they were not supporting on a personal level?
10M3 - who's to say she's being pimped out at all? She's been volunteering for Obama's campaign, and even if she's not old enough to vote that doesn't mean she's not old enough to make an intelligent, informed decision on which candidate she thinks will best lead our country into the future.
She obviously wants to help make a difference in the world, and I don't see that as her being "pimped out in the name of democracy".
I was 17 during the 2004 Presidential election, and was very distraught that I wouldn't be able to cast my ballot. However, even though I couldn't vote, I still campaigned my butt off for Kerry because no, maybe I couldn't vote, but I could help encourage other people to vote and inform them of the issues that were near and dear to me.
In my opinion, the fact that this girl is out there campaigning for Obama, whether she can vote or not, is a huge step forward for our country because it's a good indication that our young people are not as far removed and distant from our politics as the media portrays. It's really nice, in my opinion, that our high school and college students are getting involved in our country and taking the time to care about politics, because in 20 years, they're the ones who are going to be running our country.
But hey, of course, any time a young person is seen being politically motivated, it must be a stunt, or they must be being "pimped out". Of course, a seventeen year old girl could never just want to make a difference in her country, that's absurd.
*sarcasm button off*
11Wow! And to think that some people say that liberals don't have a sense of humor.......
12Conservatives are just pissed off cuz we don't have any young people to pimp out... darnit!! Our "young" people are like 43!
13
Cabaker!
14cabaker...you're a funny one.
15Bwahaha cabaker, you are killing me. I guess there is Melissa Joan Hart, the saviour of the Republican youth vote?
16Pretty funny to me.
17You can be my pimp cabaker27.;-)> You drive a Cadi?
18She'll be old enough to vote by election time. 18 year olds are looking younger and younger these days though, or God forbid I'm getting old!
19Kia if thats the truth, we are DOOMED... When was the last time you heard someone say they want to grow up to be like Melissa Joan Hart? Maybe in 1989!
Hypnotic - I don't drive a Cadi... maybe if you'd get your butt out there and start workin some I could get one!
20i want to be like clarissa
21I like the ad. It's simple and straightforward.
And who said she didn't come up with the idea? I certainly don't know the background, but if she were an Obama supporter already, then perhaps she was truly pissed off and wanted to do this on her own?
22Cool, but it has to be a convertable with white/wall tires.
23It seems that she was already involved in the Obama campaign, and the add is fine, so if it meant something for her, great.
24She will be 18 by November, and in many states this allows you to vote in the primaries as well.
25Seriously who cares. I'm sure it made her feel good to support her candidate, but I always felt like this story was blown out of proportion and a bit childish. So they used stock footage. So she's actually an Obama fan. So what.
26At long last the Stock Footage Girl has finally endorsed someone!
27I think it's a pretty good ad, and I love her line at the end "I approve this message, and not the other one."
I thought it was pretty funny when I heard about this a couple of weeks ago. Bet they'll be background checking the actors in stock footage from now on!
28I don't consider it pimping, especially because she was an Obama precinct captain before Clinton even made the commerical.
I don't think the commerical is that powerful, and I don't think this is something you would see outside of Youtube (I could be wrong, though). However, I don't think she is wrong for making the commerical. It is great that young people are so actively involved and informed.
29What do you know about the real world at 17 or 18? In this girl's defense, she probably works hard as a volunteer, and good for her for getting involved in politics. I just can't absorb a child's voting advice, no matter who it's for.
30I'm sure some of the 17 and 18 year olds serving time in Iraq would be more than happy to tell you about "the real world" Kris.
31Somebody didn't do their homework. I suppose Hilary expects to have all the facts availible to her when she is called to duty at 3 am... i hope she has a better research team in place...
32Kris - At 17 years old, I was educating my mother about the 2004 presidential election. I was the one who would spend upwards of 10 hours a day online scouring news feeds and watching debates. My 62 year old grandmother was playing video games while I campaigned. I was better educated on the election than anyone in my family.
I'm sorry, but a 17 year old is no more a child than a 19 or 20 year old. By 17 years old, many of our young people are off to college, holding jobs, etc. Just because they don't meet the standard definition of "adult" in this country, doesn't mean they are a child. The age of consent with parental permission is 16 in most states, and I'm sorry but if someone is old enough to make a choice about having sex, I think they're old enough to be well informed on the goings on in our country and actually make an effort to help change the world.
I could understand your discrimination against a 17 year old who is more preoccupied with makeup and television than the campaign, but someone who is educating herself on the issues, volunteering in a campaign, and actually participating in the future of this country is not necessarily stupid or uninformed just because of her age. Nor does she necessarily not know anything about the "real world".
And keep in mind that it will be people that are in she and I's age bracket that will be running this country in 20 to 30 years. I'd rather that we, like the generations of young people in the 60's and 70's who were informed and made an effort to change our country, got a head start instead of waiting until we're in our thirties and forties to care about what is happening in our country like Generation X did.
33I was in college when I was 17. Yes, it is a different perspective to be 17, but that doesn't mean it has no validity.
34WAIT A MINUTE - That ad was from 8 years ago??? That makes her what, 11 years old? OMG - stop the presses, Obama is using child labor!
35The stock footage that Hillary used was from 8 years ago.
36oh god, i'm a horrible person. I didn't say there aren't 18 year olds who serve their country admirably. it was just a comment, not an across the board condemnation of young people.
37I gotta say it, although the phrase is totally over... YOU GO GIRL!
