Well, I've been dating this guy for about three months now and invited him over for food and games next week. My cooking abilities max out at hot dogs, mac n cheese and chocolate cake. Any easy dinner recipes that I can whip up?

Yeah I always have that problem. Not really because I can't cook it but mostly because I dunno what to cook for my boyfriend = /
Go to a recipes website and try some kind of pasta = ) It's easy and yummy.

1I like the website http://www.allrecipes.com
You can search for the kind of recipe you want, and there are reviews from other people who have made the dish. I like to read through those too, because you can pick up some great tips that aren't in the original recipe.

I agree with mart that pasta is a yummy and easy to prepare option. Plus it's easy to compliment with a nice salad, some dinner roles and a bottle of wine. If he likes home-baked desserts then an apple crumble is tasty and easy to make.
3www.tbs.com just did a neat Movie and a Makeover segment on super easy and quick meals that involve prepackaged foods and they looked amazing (ex. lasagna in 45 minutes start to finish). The recipes are online~ good luck!
4An easy and fun dinner could be personal pizzas. Buy some boboli crusts, some preshredded mozzarella cheese, a can of pizza sauce, some pepperoni, and then maybe cut up a green pepper, onion or some mushrooms. You could also just get a few of those pre-cut in your grocery store's salad bar. Then you could each make your own little pizza to your taste.
For a salad, just buy a head of iceberg lettuce and some grape tomatoes. Rinse the iceberg, trim the stem, peel off the outer layer if it's browning or wilting, and just cut it into quarters. Serve each quarter with ranch dressing, pepper, and some grape/cherry tomatoes sliced in half.
Then pick up a dessert from your bakery and you are done!
5pick anything you want and follow the recipe to a T. it works! really!
6oh and if you need help call your mom/aunt/grandmother
7try the receipes on this website or ask sweet c on here-she always has great receipes and good easy ones. She is a great cook. have fun
8Er, why not just order takeout and pour it into pots and skillets on the stove just before he arrives?

9i love to cook for my man. most of my recipes are 5 star recipes from the food network website. since am picky and know how to cook, i take a while picking out the 5 stars, as some are not as good as others, ie. some are too simple.
10good thing i got a man who is not too picky!
dont bother buying cookbooks, they are not rated! chefs usually try to squeeze in the "not so good recipes" to fill the book. after all good recipes are limited. + i heard that many times they dont reveal their secret ingredients!
11One of my favorite websites is recipezaar.com! They have thousands of recipes, and there are lots of different search filters you can use (such as "easy to prepare"). Give it a shot! Good luck!

13First time I cooked for my bf was lasagna. It was a crunchy nightmare, and he ate it anyway! Point is, he probably won't mind what you choose. Good luck!
Oh I LOVE that individual pizzas idea!! I'm doing that next time my bf's over!
