Star Wars geeks are doin' it for themselves! From the acting, to the special effects, to the soundtrack, this Star Wars is pretty awesome. IMHO, it was waaaay better than the Michel Gondry movie remakes in Be Kind, Rewind. I'm just sayin'. . . (Thanks, eBaum's World!)

Lots of great energy here, but I thought the special effects were a little weak. The sets looked like cardboard. The rocketships looked like people with cardboard rocketships taped to them. I could have sworn the musical score consisted of people humming the Star Wars music. Where were the strings? For all I know, the talent in the film were also the same people singing! We won't get into the light sabers, which looked suspiciously like toy version available at most retailers. The movie also seemed a lot shorter than the original Star Wars, though it's been a long time since I've seen the original and I could be wrong.
On the other hand, the grass field was extremely green. Kudos to the Fertilizer Supervisor. The exploding planet was awesome - here one second,gone the next! That was the movie's moment for me.
Sorry if I was critical, but sometimes its just a few small differences that separate the masterpieces from the B-Movies. In this case, just a tad more attention to production value may have been that difference.

11rofl. very nice, and cute at the same time. it was very well thought out, or creative; I liked how they created the little sets with cardboard boxes and egg cartons, and how they made R2D2 and the ships.
12The only thing that was better than the soundtrack was the fact that the people who had dialog all had British accents.
