I have a male friend that kisses on the lips every time he greets his friends. He is happily married with kids, so I know he does it out of pure friendship, but it makes me very uncomfortable each and every time. I'm all for kisses on the cheek, but when someone you're not intimate with leans in for a wet one on the lips, I have to say I squirm! Since I'm sure he's not the only one who practices this form of salutation, tell me, do you think kissing on the lips when saying hello or goodbye is a do or a don't?

Does this friend kiss you on the lips infront of his wife? If you feel uncomfortable, just don't let him kiss you. You shouldn't have to sacrifice your comfort for his need for affection. You don't need to kiss any married man no matter if they're family or not, because people just need to keep their lips to themselves. Seriously, you don't know what people do with their lips behind closed doors. It's not a good idea for people to just kiss other people. I'm sure that the meaning behind the kiss is harmless, especially if he does it infront of his wife. It's just not a good idea for him to kiss you on the lips. Its not sanitary, which makes kissing a privilege.
