I might be late in the game on this one, but I was catching up on my DVR last night and caught Monday's episode of Oprah. Drew Barrymore was one of the guests and she was gushing about her new love Justin Long, among many other important topics. When Oprah asked her how this relationship is different from previous ones, part of Drew's response was that she has grown up and decided who she wants to be. Although the question of who do you want to be when you grow up is an age-old one, it means something so different when you're already an adult. Her statement struck a chord with me, so I thought I'd throw it out to all of you. Since we are constantly growing and maturing, do tell: Who do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to have an animal rescue centre hahahaha!
1who do I want to be? I like who I am now, I might want to be a little less selfish, and learn better comminication skills ( I tend to just shut down when things get uncomfortable) But for the most part I like who I am.
WHAT do I want to be? I still havnt figured that out. Ive always wanted to open my own daycare. But lately my BF and I have been talking about starting our own business flipping houses. (he works in construction and can build pretty much anything out of nothing. and we just got a duplex that we completly overhauled. It was everything short of being condemned when we got it and now its the nicest house on the block! Im so proud of him!)
2I want to own a doggie daycare, and spend all day playing with dogs. On a non-career note, I want to be happy with myself and my life, and try to be a caring non-selfish person.
3Heh, this is going to sound like I'm 15 again, but I want to be an individual. Not the kind of individuality that we experienced in high school, I mean.. now that I'm in my 20s I finally feel like I'm finding out who "me" is. What kind of things *I* like because they appeal to me, not because all my friends think it's cool. I want to be the kind of person who can fulfil all her own needs, have interesting hobbies and enjoys life. Who has room for a partner, but isn't obsessed with finding one. Who is open to a variety of new experiences. And who takes life as it comes and tries to learn from every experience. I want to be confident about who I am and my place in the world.
4Wealthy, happyily married and fit! LOL
5I always struggle with this questions as I am graduating in May and have several avenues open to me that I know about and somet that I don't even know about yet.
I want to do it all- write a book (childrens, fiction or something equally stimulating), go to cooking school, be a world traveler, work at a fashion magazine, paint a few worthy pieces, work in fashion merch. ... the list goes on forever, I swear.
6I want to start my own fashion line (my friends think I should), finish the book that started to write 3 years ago, and find a way to insure economic development in improverished countries.
7I'd like to be happy, productive and doing something I'm passioned about. Working for the UN, being a college professor or a journalist are high on the list. Making the world a better place and educate is something I fell strongly about and I feel that everyone can make a difference.
8My plans are as followed:
Graphic Designer -> Art Director -> Creative Director
Phase one is already in action.
9I want to be a mom!
10I didnt even think about it before, but now that someone else mentioned it. My biggest desire in life is to be a mother (a good one) and raise well balanced, stable kids.
11A mother, a good friend and family member, and comfortable in my own skin.
12I have career ambitions too, but I think that's more "what" and not "who".
13I want to like myself and learn how to not care so much as what other people think. Not only that-I want to do more for others. I want to love people a little more.
14I want to be a better version of myself
15I want to write a book, always have and just need to figure out what it will be. I also am learning to care less about what others think, learning to not take things for granted and appreciate every day and also learning to step outside my comfort zone. I would really really love to have my own stationery store!
16I want to be happy, really and truely happy
17I want to own my own daycare someday and get married and be a mother and wife. I'd LOVE to be a housewife but if that can't happen, I want my own daycare. Personality wise, I like who I am now.
18I want to be more comfortable with myself, I've come a long way since high school and even since college so far; I want to be "the cool mom" when I have kids. Cool as in always being able to communicate with them, discussion and communication are huge in life. I want to educate others and make a difference, and there's so many chances to do so. Who I want to be is someone still enjoying life and pursuing passions.
19Pink elephant has the right idea, i want to love people more too. Not enough love in the world
20I want to be happy with myself. That's something I struggle with.
21I want to be zen.
22I wanna forgive myself for my past mistakes
