It's Tuesday — four days after you hit the town with your girlfriends and gave out your number to a few potential suitors. They've passed the three-day rule so your phone is bound to start ringing. But when it does, and you don't recognize the number, will you answer it or send the call straight to voicemail? I never answer calls I don't know, especially the unidentified ones, but I have many friends that answer their phone no matter what. Of course no way is better than the other, but ladies, what I want to know is, do you screen your calls or answer numbers that you don't recognize?

I always screen.
1Sorry, I forgot to ask--what three-day rule? Is it that they waited three days to call? Because if anyone I'd given my number to waited that long, I'd probably have forgotten who they were or why I thought they were attractive in the first place...
2I always screen as well. If they really want to talk to me, they'll leave a voicemail.
3I answer any phone call I want to... but there are people I don't want to talk to, like exes, who are in my phone so I won't accidentally pick up the phone.
4I generally always answer my phone. Exceptions: people I'm intentionally avoiding
, telemarketers, and anyone who shows up as "name unknown, number unknown."
5I only answer phone numbers that I know. on my birthday my BFs whole family tried to call me to wish me a happy birthday and I didnt answer the phone because I didnt recognize the numbers, I felt like such an ass.
6I always screen my calls. I pick-up only numbers I know. I'm picky about who has access to me.
7I never screen.
If it rings, and I feel like talking, I pick it up.
My number is unlisted and I never receive unwanted calls, but if I did, they'd think twice about calling me again.
8I ALWAYS screen. Sometimes even when I know who's calling!
9I hella screen.
10I was job hunting until a few weeks ago so naturally I got a lot of phone calls from unidentified numbers, and I answered! Could have been a possible opportunity.
Now I screen calls. If they really want to reach me they can leave a voicemail.
11I never answer an unidentified number!
12When I was a party girl I used to give my number out to all kinds of people... So I had to screen my calls
13I still don't answer unless I know the number, but I don't usually have to worry about that anymore.
I always screen my calls! If I don't know the number, I don't answer. I figure if it's important they'll leave a message. And if it says "Restricted" then I know it's my ex-boyfriend trying to fool me into answering the phone - so that's always a no pick-up!
14i always answer my house phone (we don't have caller id and only a handful of people know it). i almost always screen my cell tho, esp when i get philly area codes calling me bc i haven't lived there in over a year so its like 'ok who are you and why are you tryin to call me i dont live there anymore'. i just figured if someone wants to get in touch w/ me that bad they'll leave a message bc i do that when i am calling someone
15I screen most of the time but not always.
And that three-day rule thing is so dumb. My fiance is the only guy I ever dated who did not do that, if that says anything about that rule.
163 day rule? my gosh, glad i'm not dating anymore. i only give my cell number to people i want to talk to. occasionally someone else gets it but i let it go to voice mail if it's a number i don't know (or someone i don't want to talk with).
17my cell is also for my business so I cannot answer numbers I don't know but man when I know its someone I don't want to talk too I make sure I have their name with their numbers so I can just push the busy button on my phone LOL.
18I always screen. I'm truly paranoid about using my phone (hard to explain), so I almost have to. I've signed up with GrandCentral, though, so I now have a number I can give out where people can't really reach me unless I want them to; otherwise they get a voice mail, and I get an email, and contact them when I'm ready.
19Ugh, I used to get all these creepers who somehow got my number and would call obsessively in the middle of the night.. I have had some seriously bad experiences with phones.. so I screen, unless there are special circumstances like I' applying for a job.
On the flip side my number is restricted so no one ever picks up when I call them! LOL. So I always have to leave a message going "Hey, it's just me" and then people call me back two minutes later. Gets kinda annoying sometimes..
20I don't answer numbers I don't know, unless, im expecting a number I don't know, for ex., work, school,etc.
21i dont really like answering calls. as i dont have a personal assistant to take care of them, screening will do. i dont always screen, however. those exempt from screening are my boyfriend, family (parents sometimes get screened, only if they're likely to just ask of my whereabouts), and close friends. the rest say hello to my voicemail. screening is great for unknown numbers, and voicemail is great to find out what they really want before you talk to them, hehe.
22I get a lot of 'wrong numbers' so if I don't recognize the number I let it go to voicemail. If they know me, they will leave a message.
23I'm a chronic screener. If it's important, they'll leave a message.
24i agree with melizzle. if it's important they'll leave a message. or better yet, the way to get an immediate response is through text message.
25I only answer numbers I know. If I don't know the number, they'll leave a message if it's important.
