French President Nicolas Sarkozy lost his cool yesterday while working a large crowd at an agricultural fair in Paris. In an event caught on video, an unidentified man told Sarkozy not to touch him, and that Sarkozy was "dirtying" him. Sarkozy blazed back some choice French words, "casse-toi alors, pauvre con, va." Mild and diplomatic translation of this sentiment says "then get out of here, you total jerk."
The words may have been fiery, but they were at least delivered in a manner befitting a suave French leader. Sarkozy's popularity has been sinking in recent weeks, and fellow conservatives worry his reputation will hurt them in next month's municipal elections.
Do you think the exchange was out of line?

i preferred Segolene anyway.
2Haha. Yes it was out of line but he's only human
3He was a little rude, but I agree with karma, he's only human. I don't really see it as a big deal.
4C'est un prêté pour un rendu.
5Yeah, he's a leader working and representing his country/party at a public event.
6So one Frenchman said something snotty to another Frenchman? That's weird.
7Haha that totally made my day!
For some reason seeing Sarkozy not being politically correct made him (very) slightly more interesting to me! And I love the fact the other guy refused to shake his hand!
Love. It.
8When I first read news blurbs on this incident I thought Sarkozy had yelled and made a total scene. But, when you watch the footage he seemed very cool and composed. I give him props for keeping a level head in the face of obnoxious behavior. If anyone's conduct should be criticized it should have been the heckler's.
