Jean Sarkozy, 21, will in fact run for local office in Neuilly-sur-Seine, the plush Paris suburb where his father served as mayor from 1983-2002. Jean is a law student, as well as the youngest son of French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Nicolas started his political career at age 22, as a local councilor. I guess young Jean wants to one-up his papa.
If victorious, Jean will represent the southern part of Neuilly on the council for the Hauts-de-Seine department. The department groups together the southwestern suburbs of Paris.
Yesterday, I received an invite from Jean, urging me to join his facebook campaign group. To see the "secret group" (no joke), grab your English-French dictionary, and read more.

The Body Shop
I tried to tell my friends that I was facebook friends with Jean Sarkozy, and they didn't believe me!
1Somehow, this is just really cute.
2OMG. This is crazy. haha
3ok, how FRENCH does he look in that photo??? he's like the SNL version of "french!"
4I TOTALLY agree, mewalker1999. I can't stop cracking up!
5Haha he sort of reminds me of Andrea Casiraghi in the top photo - and he does look AMAZINGLY stereotypically French. Love it!
6This photo is so...very...French.
7All he requires is a beret!
I love it when people take interest in government, no matter where they are (especially the French, though).
Ah oui Jean est tres tres beau. But anyway it will be interesting to see whther these people trust a 21 year old to do an affective job and whether some die hards can look past daddy's shenanigans with one Ms. Bruni or should I say the one formerly known as Ms. Bruni
8Awe
He looks like a model though.
9He's a dreamy little thing, isn't he? I wonder if he'll do well in politics given his dad's reputation.
10Well, at 21, I suppose he's ready to lead a city of over a million people. He's earned it.
11Just a clarification — wouldn't be le mayor. He would serve on the council.
12That is on hott french guy. (Remind myself; french men don't stay faithful. Don't even think about it.)
13Are you sure tresjolie? C'est triste.
14Well, not every single guy I suppose. But the frenchies I know have all stated that having mistresses, especially for the upper class, is a completely normal thing. That is sad. French men are so charming, though! An American girl I know had a little affair with a married guy while she was in France. He just forgot to tell her that he in fact had a wife. When she did find out he told her that they had an "arrangement" and that it was "OK". But I'm sure they are not all like that. I just don't like the gamble;)
15He'a a little cutie! Too young for me, though.
Nya - I wondered the same thing when I saw this. Will his age and his daddy's reputation work against him?
16Whenever I'm sad, I'm just going to look at this picture. I can't help but chuckle!
17He looks like Abercrombie & French!
18
JudeC!
19I was hoping this was a joke. If I don't even take his father seriously, I'm not going to take daddy's little boy seriously either.
20French people look so French. I love French men!! Almost as much as I love this guy's coat.
21It has nothing to do with politics, but I dislike French men (sexually/romantically I mean) I agree with Bailaora Gaditana that he looks like Andrea Casiraghi!! But I don't think he seems a typical French, French men normally are much uglier!!!
22He can serve on MY council!
23Ha love it, janneth!!
24This is making me wish I'd have taken French instead of Spanish classes
25Qué pena!
Ugh, pass me the sick bag.
