Not surprised, just sad.

I think he's doing it for two reasons. (1) Trying to unite the party and (2) Possibly looking for the VP slot.

He is looking for a new chance to run for President down the line, and he want the Party to see what a good little boy he is. Team player and all. Uniter. And then they will take care of him in the future.

icterp... yes. Romney is hoping for a VP slot, but he probably won't get it. People just hate him too much. Huckabee has a better chance of being McCain's running mate.

I don't think he'll take Huck. Huckabee has been talking about getting tattooed and touring with Amy Winehouse, which will loose the conservative vote.

I don't get it - I think McCain has something on Romney really. Why else would he drop out and be all "it's what's best" about it? Plus at the last debate - how flustered was Romney about McCain's "lies." Made me think even then that there was something else going on. Call me a conspiricist, whatever - just seems like there's more than meets the eye, and that Romney would endorse Huckabee before McCain if he could since their stands on issues are so much closer than Romney and McCain's. Whew. Run on sentence there. Sorry.

I personally hate McCain's politics - growing up in a state that he neglected as its senator and all. I can't think of one good thing he's done for Arizona and yet - he still won this state - go figure. Seems like a good guy and all... and he's definitely a war hero, just not my pick for prez.

You guys, don't you think it's a little naive to think he is seriously going for the VP? There's no chance a disliked Governor of Massachusetts, who called the nominee a liberal on several occasions, is getting that spot. Huck has exhausted himself with the public and ruffled the feathers with his Party. Neither is getting it, and they both know it at this point.

"I didn't know you were allowed to give your delegates away. lol" - It's not quite that simple, and it really depends on the state, but you'll notice most people running for the Nom don't officially quit, they "suspend" their running. This way, in certain states, they can retain control over the delegates they have won.

All-in-all, it really comes down to the rules of the states.

In Mass on talk radio they are saying that Romney is giving his support to McCain to push him ahead, possibly knock out Huck, and prevent Huck from saying "see I was the number two candidate all along" when and if he ever gets enough delegates to surpass Romney. Even though Romney would not have been competing for delegates in the last 6 states.

Also, no one here thinks Romney is going for the VP slot.
