JustForeignPolicy.org is great — not only does it educate readers about crucial foreign policy issues, it also lets you do something about it. The site recently posted a short video exploring the role the US had in overthrowing Iran's democratic leader in 1953, as well as the overall complex relations between the two countries. Watch it below.
Right next to the video, is a link that makes it easy to email your own representative, urging them to support the Lee Bill, which would appoint a high-level US representative for the purpose of reducing tensions and establishing normal diplomatic relations with Iran.
The site is independent and nonpartisan. Its goal is to move US foreign policy away from relying on raw military and economic power and more toward using international law, cooperation, and diplomacy. Check it out!

While I'm not overly familiar with the site, it seems to have been started by Mark Weisbrot who is one of the directors of the Center for Economic and Policy Research, which is a "progressive" economic think tank. This, tied with his views on Social Security and some of his views on foreign policy, leave me believing this isn't quite as "independent and nonpartisan" as they are claiming to be.
Please note, I'm not saying he's a Democrat, but the views I see seem to lead me to believe he will not find as much support from certain conservatives or Republicans, whether or not they officially align themselves with a party or not.
13M you said basically what I was going to say. So no point in repeating it.
2Wow. Interesting video. Thanks for the info, Liberty!

Yes, yes, yessssss....! I love this. Will definitely be checking it out and bookmarking. Thanks, Liberty.
I personally could care less about the political alignment of the person running it. I think it's irrelevant in this case. I would hope that they would be just as willing to protest a Democrat president that resorts to war over diplomacy as they would a Republican. Although I do feel that their having a personal blog on their organization's website strips them of a little bit of credibility.
4Democracy is like that show "Jackass". Smaller, oil-rich nations shouldn't try it at home as it could result in a C.I.A. overthrow, replacement by a military dictatorship, or death.
