A 17 year-old student was shot at a school in Memphis, Tennessee, this morning. The incident involved two students from Mitchell High School. The victim, a 12th grader, was shot in the school's cafeteria and is critically injured. The suspected shooter, an 11th grader at the school, is currently in custody.
The high school is not on lockdown. Parents are arriving to check on their children, but parents are being asked to be patient.

not another one. this is really, really sad. i just feel sad when this sort of thing happens. not angry, not anything but sad.
1this is terrible. I feel so bad for the families of everyone who was involved.
2Yeah this is always sad to hear.
3It's so sad, especially when there was another school shooting not even a week ago at a different high school here. I guess I never realized how truly bad it is here in Memphis, I sort of had my blinders on.
4Is it School Shooting Season again?
5Can you spell Gun Control?
6so what is being done about it? is it that expensive to install metal detectors or have more security? why is the government so concerned about military spending when the "homeland" has so many internal problems?
7Well here in our town we have had 5 bomb threats at THREE different schools here in the last 8 days and nobody's caring about us. They caught the guy who made 3 threats at the high school, but AFTER he was already in jail another threat was made at the middle school and junior high so he obviously has cronies. I guess since nobody died nobody cares about us.
