I have a very loud laugh that some say is contagious, so I guess I should feel lucky that I'm not a nervous laugher. When I say nervous laughter, I mean someone that giggles when they're uncomfortable, sad, or even angry — like at a funeral or when they are put on the spot at work. So what category do you fall in? Are you a nervous laugher or do you save your giggles for something that's actually funny?

I only laugh at the funnies!
1I could never laugh when I was sad or worried!
i only laugh when somethings funny... well of course theres still the "fake laugh", but thats so u dont embarass someone else
2I hate that I'm a nervous laugher, but I'm grateful I don't laugh at truly inappropriate times.
3Not really...
4Not at all.
5I laugh when I'm angry. Schizo, huh? But at the same time, it helps me and whoever it was I was arguing get over the argument faster.
6OMG! I laugh at the most inappropriate times!
7I laugh when I get really bad news, I try to stop, but when I should start crying i tend to get a big stupid grin on my face, I have discovered though, that if i bite by cheek really hard this tends to stop...so weird, i wonder what causes laughing at inappropriate times?
8I'm a nervous laugher! My mom teases me about it. I think I got it from her, actually!
9My cousin and I call it 'Inappropriate Laughter Syndrome' and have decided it's genetic.
Once a friend of mine almost fell on the sidewalk and I couldn't stop laughing. Even like 10 minutes later when I was trying to apologize for laughing. Once I get the giggles I can't stop.
10I laugh at the most inappropriate times, too. It's maddening!
Once, when my son was about 1 1/2, the doctor had to strap him in this horrible clear plastic Hannibal Lecter contraption to keep him still enough to get a good chest x-ray. He was terrified and crying and yelling for me, and I couldn't stop giggling! And crying! I felt so helpless and I was truly incapable of putting a stop to it. I didn't think there was anything funny about it! I have no idea what that's all about. But, I'm pretty sure the x-ray technician wanted to kick me. Hell, *I* wanted to kick me.
11I laugh a lot because I'm easily amused.
One thing I hate is when people laugh incessantly at their own jokes. It's always when the jokes aren't funny in the first place.
12Sometimes, if I'm uncomfortable with another person, I laugh to ease the tension.
13Definitely a nervous laugher. I can be in the midst of a panic attack and start laughing, it's rediculous.
14Yep!! I laugh at everything, bad, good, sad... But hey they say laughing is more beneficial than crying so I'm good. =)
I'm also one of those people that will bust out laughing at something that happened a long time ago.. (I'm am a proud recipient of many WTF? looks =)
15i definitely am, i always laugh when i shouldnt.
16usually, no, but sometimes, yes. like someone else said, sometimes i do so someone doesn't get embarrassed (especially if i don't know the person that well) and i also laugh when i get really frustrated and can't do something or figure something out. i can be crying and laughing at the same time at that point! haha
17I laugh ALL the time. While obviously there are inappropriate times to be laughing (and I can only remember one such occasion when I got the giggles and it was because I was very young and didn't know how to understand what was going on), I tend not to take everything in life too seriously. I love that I am able to laugh at myself and learn from my mistakes and move on instead of crying and dwelling on it and thinking I'm not "good enough".
18it's tough to get me to laugh, I am generally a very serious person and I don't laugh at things that are immature or just senseless.
19I'm a nervous laugher, but I'll fall into that habit when something stressful is happening, like when my friend and I were having car troubles 3 hours from home, but I'm trying to control it because while it might help me, it only makes the people around me more upset.
20I know it's horrible, but when I was younger I couldn't stop laughing at funerals. It wasn't a funny laugh, it was def a nervous laugh. As I grew older I have learned to control it and it's not a problem anymore.
21Yeah, in high school I would have to hide my laughter when they'd do a moment of silence when someone died. I couldn't help it. It wasn't that I thought it was funny AT ALL...I was just uncomfortable, and then my mind would start wandering, thinking about what other people were thinkning about.
I also laugh when anybody falls, even if I am really concerned if they're hurt. AND...I also laugh randomly when I think about funny things in the past or something I heard a few days ago. It freaks people out that all of a sudden I'll be crying laughing. I can't help it!
22I also make jokes an inappropriate moments when I'm nervous or don't know what to do, like if someone is upset.
23I laugh at everything, I can't help it. Funny or sad, I always giggle.
24No, not unless something's funny......... but I had a friend who used to get hysterical laughing whenever someone fell, even if the person wound up getting hurt.It used to get me nuts until i realized that she couldn't control it.She's received an awful lot of go to hell looks through the years because of it.
25I nervous laugh in really bad situations. When I was younger, my best friend broke her arm and I just started laughing because I was so scared. She didn't talk to me for a week!
26The only time I am a nervous laugher is in the cinema when watching a scary movie. I think I start giggling just to break the tension, plus I've become a screamer as I've gotten older. Actually often me screaming will frighten people more than what's happening on screen!
