I have been a daily visitor to Popsugar since it was the only site. However, this is the most offensive thing I have ever seen on the Sugar Network. I will not be returning to any of these websites.

hills, I can only speak for myself. I have been complaining about runaway spending even when George bush was President. The unfunded liabilities of this country is staggering, even without this additional spending. There is not enough taxes out there that can pay these debts off. At some point countries will stop buying T Bills, which means only one thing runaway inflation.

Okay, I won't get into politics on here. No one is going to change anyone's mind on a message board like this one. But I can't help but point out how interesting this is: when protestors are "for" your cause, they're heros. When they disagree with you, otherwise normal people suddenly get crude and insulting. Teabagging? A bit childish, don't you think? Just something to think about.

pati, one nice thing about dual citizenship, and the EU we have the right to live and work here in the U.S., as well as any of the EU countries in Europe. We also can show a terrorist a passport, hiding our true homeland.

pati, haven grown up in Ireland, another "socialist" country, particularly pre EU. I came to the States with the opposite wish. Fascinating how similar experiences lead to entirely different conclusions.

I hope, no I am praying for the US to become finally a socialist country...that might me the only reason for me to stay in this country and start a life here. Being from Germany I can only advocate you to want a more socialist place here...it's a chance for ALL people here to finally experience a real level of high quality of life..(and not just for the rich crowd) again, I am speaking from experience and it's an opinion. I have a good life here but I cannot count on the government if something ever happens to me, (god forbid) and as a german i am not used to living such a life..and could not imagine to do it for a longer time.

In reference to the hate-mongering KKK and people who want to assassinate the president and raise their children racist and make up lies to scare people (NOT in reference to the people that protested because they had opinions and were upset): I love, LOVE my country and the freedom it stands for, but sometimes I think we are packing some of the most brainless losers in the universe.

Not to be a drag, but is there anywhere to go that doesn't rant about politics. It's more divisive than ever. People have very strong opinions for their own personal reasons and both sides can be passionate, cruel, and sometimes ignorant. Many people are scared, have lost jobs, have loved ones, friends, and neighbors that have lost jobs. This is the crisis we are facing and name calling isn't working and certainly isn't solving anything. I don't know where the teabagging reference started, but someone needs to just stop. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but as Rodney King said years ago after the riots ensued from his uncalled for beating, "Can't we all just get along?" We have lost 50% of our retirement funds since August, I lost my job in June, my husband is fortunate to still be employed, but has taken a substantial pay cut. I do not understand, though, how execs at Fannie and Freddie are still getting high six-figure bonuses on their already high six figure salaries. They have taken pay cuts from their $million plus salaries, while our elected officials used AIG the poster children for greedy behavior. We all need to respect opposing opinions, right, wrong, or indifferent. If we listen we might learn, but name calling is just stupid! It's not right in kindergarten and it's not acceptable to be an adult bully. Call it a tea party, call it a protest, but don't use sexual references. It was embarassing defining teabagging to my mother and mother-in-law, both 80+ years old. This is America and we are supposed to have freedom of speech. I don't think there was any physical violence and children should have probably been left at home, but I can only manage my home. We all need a place to vent. I, for one, would love to find the place where I don't have to worry about being attacked and/or judged for having different opinions.

My god it wasn't a "tea bagging" party it was a TEA PARTY like the BOSTON TEA PARTY... I think it's hilarious how it was fine when people disrespected and ridiculed our last president, however if anyone says one negative thing about Obama people freak out... hypocrisy at it's best!

I should note a while back a few people took offence at me using :fogey: at the end of every post. I stopped using it, not because I agreed it was offencive, or very many others did, as a matter of fact there were a hella lot more that supported :fogey: I just felt why give offence to anyone unecessarily.

Baby, I would have been with you on this, since i did not know the term myself until recently, EXCEPT for the link in the article posted. That link, was put in their to make sure folks like you and I would get the "joke". The joke was just as offensive as that patch of watermelons growing on the front lawn of the White House. I failed to see the humor in that picture there was no need for me to make a major issue over it, since we all pretty much agreed it was offencive. In some ways it is upsetting to see so much support for the joke. I can chalk it up to age I suppose, but I still have a strong opinion.

Hmm - I saw the teabag comment as a way to lighten up the text... because lets face it most of us here knows the SATC version of teabagging so it is funny if you look at it in a certain way. Maybe it's because I'm Danish I don't really get it (I could have misunderstood something so don't get angry with me here)

What's funny for one person, may not be funny for the other. No one really likes being called names/labels they don't want to be called then being told to 'grow up.' Everyone has his/her 'thing' of names/labels they're not comfortable being called as/find offensive. I personally think it's a vulgar term (tea bagging) when implied to the sexual act, which many know that it's that act is very much implied :p

I was part of the anti war movement in the 60's. I was considered one of the "better" draft councillors amongst my peers. The press is doing the same thing here that they did when the anti war movement was getting off the ground. We would have thousands show up at rallies, and the only people interviewed, the only signs that made the news were bombastic Maoists. Implying that all of us were most radical of Communist. Years later it was found out that many of those kooks were plants sent to both incite and infiltrate the peace movement. The vast majority of us were not "rooting" for the Viet Cong to win, we objected to sending draftees into a war we had absolutely no intention of winning, we were sending young men to die, for "an exit strategy".

Where does it say here that they give "unbiased" articles. And seriously how am I part of the problem? Everyday the same things are spewed here by some of the same people. I can't count on one hand the number of personal attacks on Tres Sugar. That's like me calling Bill O'Reily a loud mouth, panicky jerk after watching a couple episodes. Why keep watching if I don't like it? (I actually do thoroughly enjoy watching O' Reily) I have conversed with people whom I do not see exactly eye to eye with with less nitpicking and redundancy as some folks keep on these boards. I love a good debate and expressing my opinions, but I prefer to stick on topic and temper it with humor, not bash the commentator or consistently bring up the SAME DEAD HORSE. I understand why people participated in tea parties across this nation and I applaud the majority who came because of their convictions and were peaceful. However I can still see a lighter side to the situation and I do not fault Tres sugar for her word usage. It is her opinion and her writing. You don't have to agree with it but state your peace and move on. I am choosing to do the same with this conversation although it has been entertaining.

See, I thought a lot of the posters were funny but some of the ones they chose to show are offensive. When you take personal shots at people things get a little less fun and a little more personal.

Well, she is a "new" writer. And I really think her comments were offensive and rude. I sent her a PM as well. I think if everyone wasn't arguing telling us not to state when we don't like something about an article, there would be less comments too. Seems like you are part of the problem. And different writing styles is not the same as saying that rove was Bushes brains or that Palin ruined the election for Mccain or referencing sexual innuendo in regards to a peaceful protest. The articles should be written in an unbiased format, as that is the same respect that liberals or people that lean towards that direction get from this site and the MSM. We can be adult, I expect that from the commentators on this site but ESPECIALLY from the staff. Any less is unacceptable.
